Agra ‘priority corridor’ Fare Details:
The fare structure for the corridor is set at INR 10 for traveling between stations. INR 20 for two stations, and INR 30 for three to six stations. Distinguished by its yellow color, the Agra Metro project is the third such initiative managed by UPMRC, following the Lucknow and Kanpur Metro projects.
After a thorough three-day inspection, the commissioner for Metro Rail Safety granted final approval. A notable feature of the project is the absence of conventional overhead equipment (OHE), prone to disruptions from factors like bird activity and kite flying. Instead, the Third Rail System, unaffected by these issues, promises enhanced efficiency in train operations. The system also incorporates an automatic climate control feature.
In line with environmental conservation, the project is anticipated to recharge 10 lakh liters of groundwater annually, facilitated by the construction of 300 recharge pits along the metro rail alignment.
